First Graders participate in two exhibits a year. This fall First graders demonstrated their knowledge regarding Balance and Motion. Their performance included showing the results of many hands on experiments as well as balancing objects, walking on a balance beam, and other acrobatic balancing feats. This year we had a professional clown come in and instruct us on the finer points of balance. Our Balance and Motion exhibit was a good balance of science, fun, and performance.
This spring first graders will become practicing entomologists as insects will be the topic of our spring exhibit. Using live insects, books, videos, insect trunks and a field trip first graders will be immersed in bugs. Students will display their knowledge in the following forms: books, computer graphics, insect models and a play performance.
