Allow your child to do as much writing as possible. Assignment #1: Goal: Identify labels Task: We have been learning about labels. Labels can tell us what an object or picture is, where is goes, and/or more information about the object. Look for labels around your home and community. Copy to of the labels here: ________________________________________________ ________________________________________________ Assignment #2: Goal: Exploring a calculator Task: We have continued to learn how to use the calculator. Have your student show you how to use the minus sign to count from 10 to 0. Assignment #3: Goal: Shared reading Task: We have begun reading groups. We are working hard to point to the words as we say them aloud. Model for you student and have your student practice. Assignment #4 Goal: Handwriting Task: We have formally learned how to make all the upper and lower case letters. Now it is time to practice, practice, practice! Please encourage your student to always start at the top (instead of on the bottom line) and to “bump” the lines. A handwriting sheet is attached.
