| March 5, 2008 - Downhill Skiing Weather permitting, the 5th grade will be going downhill skiing on March 5, 2008 at Afton Alps. The cost will be $20.00 which includes bus, ski rental, lift ticket and ski lessons. We leave school at 9:15 and return between 2-2:30. Students will need to know their height, weight and shoe size. Chaperones are requested at a ratio of 1 per 10 students and must be at least 21 years old and able to assist and supervise the students before, during, and after the lesson. We need chaperones who are willing to take groups of students skiing on the hills. Students are only allowed on the blue and green hills and need to always be with a chaperone. We are only able to receive complimentary lift tickets and rentals for chaperones up to the 1:10 ratio. Any additional chaperones are $14.00. Students need to dress properly for being outdoors. No long scarves should be worn. They should wear lined mittens or gloves, a stocking cap, snow pants and ONE pair of medium weight socks (no anklets). Straight legged pants are not recommended. They may want sunglasses even if it is a cloudy day. Students will have three choices for lunch. They may bring a lunch from home, order a school lunch or purchase their lunch at Afton. Please contact your classroom teacher if you are able to chaperone or with any questions and concerns you may have. | ||||
