Emily Madland, School Social Worker

Hi! My name is Emily Madland and I have been the special education social worker at Museum Magnet for two years. I received a BA degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1999, and a Master of Social Work degree from the College of St. Catherine/University of St. Thomas in 2003.

As a social worker, I have worked with elementary and junior high students in several St. Paul School programs as well as some work with the elderly population in St. Paul. In addition to Museum Magnet, I work at JJ Hill Montessori School two days a week, and I co-facilitate weekly groups with kids in emergency homeless shelters through the Saint Paul Schools Title One Homeless Program.

At both schools, I work with students on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals in individual and/or group sessions. I also work with students and families in crisis and I collaborate with families, teachers, and other staff members to increase school success and achievement.

I am here on Wednesdays and Fridays and I can be contacted by phone at 651-325-2628 or by email at emily.madland@spps.org.
